If you’re not an EU citizen, you’ll need a work permit for the country where you want to work.

For example, Germany and Austria have special programs for citizens of the Western Balkans (Serbia, BiH, North Macedonia, etc.). It’s best to contact the embassy for all details. We’re here to support you in the job search process!

You don’t always need German - it depends on the job and employer.

For some jobs (e.g. welders, drivers, warehouse workers) basic understanding is often enough, especially with colleagues from our region.

Some employers have teams that speak Croatian, Serbian, or Bosnian, so German isn’t required.

We always recommend learning at least basic workplace terms - it boosts your chances and makes things easier.
