Austria Introduces New Vignette: Here Are the Prices
12/01/2023

VIENNA – The Austrian government has introduced an additional one-day vignette for motorways and expressways. It can be purchased from today, costs 8.60 euros, and during December it is available only in digital form. From next year, the one-day vignette will also be available for purchase as a sticker.
An increase in the price of the ten-day vignette, mainly used by tourists, has also been announced. Its price will jump from 9.90 to 11.50 euros from January 1. The price of the two-month vignette will fall from 29 to 28.90 euros next year, while the annual price remains the same.
From November 22, vignettes are also available in digital form. This means that the vignette no longer needs to be physically affixed to the car windshield; instead, your license plate number will be recorded in the central system, and verification is carried out automatically. Online purchase is possible at the web address https://shop.asfinag.at/en/.
What is great about this system is the fact that the owner of the vignette is the vehicle user. In other words, if during the validity of the vignette you change your car and registration – which is not a rare case among people who use company cars – in the system you can transfer the current vignette to the new registration. However, this will cost you 18 euros, Index writes.
