Average Salary in Croatia Reached €1,444 in June 2025

According to the latest data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, the average net salary in Croatia for June 2025 reached 1,444 euros. Compared to May, a slight decline was recorded, 0.5 percent nominally and 0.7 percent in real terms. However, compared to June last year, salaries increased significantly, almost 10 percent nominally and almost 6 percent in real terms.

Net and gross amounts

The average gross salary in June amounted to 2,008 euros. It too was slightly lower compared to May, while compared to the same month in 2024, it recorded growth of over 10 percent nominally and 6.5 percent in real terms. These trends show that despite short-term fluctuations, salaries in Croatia are growing in the long term, following a stable positive trend over the past year.

Highest and lowest salaries

As in previous years, differences among industries are very pronounced. The highest average net salary in Croatia in June was recorded in the air transport sector and amounted to 2,279 euros. In contrast, the lowest was in clothing manufacturing and amounted to only 926 euros. For gross salaries, this gap is even more pronounced, from 3,317 euros in air transport to 1,212 euros in clothing manufacturing.

Median salaries

The median salary, which better reflects the actual earnings of most employees in Croatia, amounted to 1,233 euros net and 1,683 euros gross in June. Compared to May, a minimal decline of 0.2 percent was recorded, but when compared with June of last year, the growth is double-digit, as much as 11.5 percent for net and 12.3 percent for gross salaries.

Hourly wages and hours worked

Croatian workers worked an average of 165 paid hours in June, which is 5.2 percent less than in May. At the same time, the average net hourly wage rose to 8.45 euros, while the gross hourly wage reached 11.75 euros. This means that on an annual basis, the hourly wage increased by more than five percent. The highest number of working hours was recorded in support services for mining, while the fewest hours were recorded in building maintenance and landscape services.

Half-year average

If the period from January to June is observed, the average Croatian net salary amounted to 1,432 euros, and the gross salary to 1,988 euros. Compared to the same period in 2024, this is an increase of about 10 percent nominally and up to 7.4 percent in real terms, confirming stable growth in the income of employees in Croatia throughout the year.

Noticeable differences

Data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics show that Croatia recorded only a negligible monthly decline in average salaries in June 2025, but considering annual comparisons and the half-year average, growth remains pronounced. The biggest differences are still among individual sectors, with workers in air transport earning by far the highest salaries, while employees in clothing manufacturing receive the least. Despite these differences, general trends show that salaries in Croatia are rising in 2025 and that the purchasing power of employees, despite inflationary pressures, is showing improvement.
