From Child’s Drawing to 3D Character in Seconds: Ruđer Bošković Institute Becomes a Fun AI Hub for Kids
04/08/2026

Zagreb, April 2026 - Can a child's drawing come to life in just a few seconds? Can a computer be controlled using only hand movements? Answers to these and many other questions are brought by a unique STEM event that will delight the youngest, as well as their parents.
At the Ruđer Bošković Institute, on April 17 from 1 to 4 PM, there will be 'SciHill: Open Doors to STEM (IRB): Discover Innovations', as part of the project Promotion of STEM technologies through a multidisciplinary approach - MULTI-STEM (SF.2.4.06.04.0092).
This is an interactive event that brings the world of science and technology closer to children in a completely different way - through play, creativity, and the 'wow effect'.
Children will have the opportunity to:
- turn their own drawings into realistic 3D characters with the help of artificial intelligence
- create digital models using mobile phones
- control a computer with hand movements and gestures
- participate in fun interactive displays that respond in real time
- explore how 3D models are created from photographs through photogrammetry technology
Unlike traditional educational activities, here children do not learn passively - they actively participate, explore, and create. This approach shows exactly how fun, creative, and accessible STEM can be for everyone. Along with the MULTI-STEM project, there will be various activities for children, and you can see the full program at the following link: https://scihill.eu/index.php/elementor-107/
The event is primarily intended for lower primary school students, but it is also open to parents, teachers, and all interested citizens.
The goal of the MULTI-STEM project is to encourage interest in science and technology from an early age and to bring modern technologies closer to the general public through innovative and interactive content.
