Christmas Bonuses in Croatia: Here’s What Pliva, HEP, JANAF and FINA Are Offering

This year as well, Christmas bonuses in Croatian companies are attracting great attention from employees.
According to data collected by the portal Net.hr, among the highest amounts stand out Pliva and HEP. Workers at Pliva, a well-known Croatian pharmaceutical company that has been producing medicines for decades and has significant exports, will receive a Christmas bonus of 497.71 euros, while employees of HEP, the state-owned electric power company that supplies electricity to the entire country, will receive 450 euros.
These data clearly show that larger and financially stable companies in Croatia continue to reward their workers at the end of the year, despite challenges in the economy and various operating costs.
With somewhat lower amounts, but still significant, Christmas bonuses belong to workers at JANAF and FINA, who will receive 350 euros each. JANAF, the company that manages oil pipelines in Croatia and plays a key role in energy supply, and FINA, the national financial agency responsible for managing financial information, show their employees that despite official regulations, Christmas bonuses remain an important part of the compensation package.
While in Slovenia a legally mandatory Christmas bonus for all employees was recently introduced, in Croatia its payment still remains optional and left to the employer's discretion. This means that the amounts and the payment itself vary from company to company, and the largest and financially stable companies such as Pliva, HEP, JANAF, FINA, and INA thereby send a message about the importance of rewarding employees and preserving motivation within the workforce.
