HIGH, almost summer-like temperatures have lured us all outside, and that also means that barbecue season has begun. But if you live in Germany and want to barbecue on the balcony, you must follow the new rule if you do not want to pay a fine.
German media write that the biggest problem is with charcoal grills. Namely, too much smoke from a charcoal grill can not only create inconvenience for neighbors, but you may also be violating German environmental protection laws.
Fines go up to 25 thousand euros
If grilling causes environmental damage due to too much smoke, fines can be imposed that go up to as much as 25 thousand euros. In addition, if you do it frequently, it can also lead to court disputes.
German media warn that citizens should be careful not to cause serious problems and that they should comply with the applicable regulations.
