In July, the average net salary in Zagreb amounted to 1,623 euros per employee in legal entities.

Compared to June, a slight decrease of 0.6 percent was recorded, while compared to the same month last year, an increase of 7.8 percent was recorded, states index.hr.

The median salary amounted to 1,415 euros, which means that half of employees earn less and half earn more, so income disparities remain large.

According to data from the City Office for Economy, Environmental Sustainability and Strategic Planning, the highest salaries were paid in the crude oil and natural gas extraction sector, where the average net earnings in July amounted to 2,347 euros. The lowest salaries were recorded in the manufacture of leather and related products, with an average of 946 euros.

In July, Zagreb residents earned on average 186 euros more than the national average, given that the average net salary in Croatia amounted to 1,437 euros. The average gross salary in Zagreb legal entities amounted to 2,318 euros, which is a decrease of 0.6 percent compared to June, but an increase of eight percent compared to July last year.
