Industrial Production in Croatia Rises: 8.8% Annual Increase

According to the latest data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS), industrial production in the Republic of Croatia recorded positive indicators in November 2025.

Total seasonally and calendar-adjusted industrial production in November recorded growth of 1.1% compared to October 2025. An even more significant change is visible in comparison with the same period of the previous year, as calendar-adjusted production in November 2025 increased by 8.8% compared to November 2024.

Analysis of the data by main industrial groupings shows that the most significant contribution to annual growth came from the capital goods sector. This category, which includes the production of machinery, tools, and equipment intended for further business operations and investments, recorded annual growth of 22.5%. Also, a significant increase of 16.5% was achieved in the production of non-durable consumer goods, which include food, beverages, medicines, and similar products for everyday use.

On the other hand, not all industrial segments followed the growth trend. Production of durable consumer goods, such as household appliances and furniture, recorded a decline of 10.0% compared to November of the previous year. A slight decline of 2.5% was also recorded in the energy sector, while the production of intermediate goods, that is, raw materials and materials used in further processing, increased by 3.5%.

At the same time as production growth, an increase in total inventories of finished industrial products was also recorded. At the end of November 2025, inventories were 5.5% higher compared to the end of October, while compared to the same month in 2024 they increased by 11.9%. The increase in inventories in this context can be interpreted as a reflection of growing production activity and companies' preparations for future deliveries and orders.

When it comes to employment, the data indicate specific movements within the industrial sector. The total number of employed persons in November 2025 was only slightly higher compared to October, with a minimal increase of 0.1%. However, on an annual basis, the number of employees in industry was lower by 3.2%. According to the available data, growth in total production alongside a simultaneous reduction in the number of workers indicates an increase in labor productivity, which is a trend often associated with technological modernization of production processes.

In conclusion, the latest statistical indicators confirm the stable direction of Croatian industry at the end of 2025. The key figure remains the significant annual growth of 8.8%, with the capital goods sector leading economic activity. Such developments, along with evident productivity growth, suggest structural changes in domestic industry that could affect its further competitiveness.
