04/02/2026

The City of Split successfully carried out the payment of one-off financial support during March on the occasion of the Easter holidays.
A total of 330,680 euros was allocated from the city budget for this purpose, and 4,724 beneficiaries were entitled to the assistance. Each individual received an amount of 70 euros, thereby continuing the practice of providing direct financial support to citizens of lower financial status.
The largest share of funds directed to Split pensioners
Pensioners covered by the city project called Moj zlatni Split represent the largest group of recipients of this support. A total of 199,570 euros was allocated for their Easter payments. This measure is part of a broader social strategy aimed at improving the standard of living of the elderly population and ensuring them additional funds during a period of increased holiday expenses.
Support for caregivers and recipients of the inclusion allowance
Payments were also made to the accounts of caregivers who receive regular support from the City of Split. For this specific category of citizens, 12,950 euros was secured. In addition to them, recipients of the inclusion allowance from the Croatian Institute for Social Work who are already in the city benefits system were also entitled to the 70-euro Easter payment. The total amount paid to this group of beneficiaries reached 75,530 euros.
Assistance for socially vulnerable families and young people in education
The city administration also included recipients of the guaranteed minimum benefit from the Croatian Institute for Social Work who are also entitled to compensation for heating costs. For this purpose, 35,420 euros was paid out. Special emphasis was also placed on education, so socially vulnerable pupils and students who are recipients of city scholarships and support also received assistance. A total of 7,210 euros was paid to them ahead of the holidays.
Systematic investment in the social stability of the community
The continuous payment of holiday support confirms the focus of the local government on maintaining social stability and directly helping the most vulnerable segments of society. With this approach, the City of Split not only provides immediate financial relief, but also shows a clear intention to distribute budget funds in a way that directly affects the quality of life of citizens. The timely implementation of payments ensures that assistance reaches the end beneficiaries precisely at the moments when it is most needed, thereby strengthening trust in institutions and the social welfare system.
