Croatia Near the Bottom: Do You Know the Average Net Salaries in Neighboring Countries?

Compared to the salary for April of this year, the average net salary for May was nominally higher by 1.9 percent, and in real terms by 0.5 percent.

Croatia is at the very bottom, and only Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary have lower salaries.
Income in 2022
The average monthly paid net salary per employee in legal entities in Croatia amounted to 7,690 kuna for May 2022, which is nominally 8.2 percent higher, but 2.3 percent lower in real terms compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS), published on Wednesday.
Compared to the salary for April of this year, the average net salary for May was nominally higher by 1.9 percent, and in real terms by 0.5 percent.
The average monthly paid net hourly wage for May this year amounted to 43.01 kuna, which is 2.7 percent lower compared to April, and 3.5 percent higher compared to May last year.
In May, there were an average of 175 paid hours, which is an increase of 4.8 percent compared to April. The highest number of paid hours was in the healthcare sector, 190, and the lowest number of paid hours in the social care sector without accommodation, 159.
