Croatia’s Minimum Wage for 2027 Set at €1,130 Gross: Around €844 Net
10/29/2026

The minimum wage in Croatia from January 1, 2027, will amount to 1,130 euros gross per month.
That is 80 euros more than the current 1,050 euros, or an increase of approximately 7.6%. The new amount was announced by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković at the session on October 29, 2026.
How much will remain in the account?
According to the currently applicable rules, 1,130 euros gross brings approximately 843.90 euros net to a worker in Zagreb who uses the full basic personal allowance, has no dependents or additional tax reliefs, and is insured in both pension pillars. In that example, the increase would amount to 44.66 euros net per month. The final payout depends on the tax rate according to place of residence and reliefs, so a gross increase of 80 euros does not mean that much more money in the account. The calculation applies if the calculation rules do not change before payment.
Unions requested 120 euros more
The announced minimum wage is 120 euros lower than the union demand of 1,250 euros gross. That demand, as reported by Katarina Brečić for RTL Danas, was announced by the general secretary of the Construction Workers' Union of Croatia, Domagoj Ferdebar. The unions requested that this amount be reached already in 2027, while the Government set it in its program as a goal for 2028.
The new minimum wage raises the lowest permitted gross salary for full-time work. Supplements for overtime and night work, as well as work on Sundays and holidays, must be calculated on top of that amount. For workers who already earn more than 1,130 euros gross, the increase in the legal minimum by itself does not guarantee a higher salary.
