Eurostat Reveals Europe’s Poorest Countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina Ranks Second

ACCORDING to the latest Eurostat data, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the second poorest country in Europe. That statistical agency states that only the citizens of Albania have a lower standard of living.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina is below 50 percent of the European average in terms of standard of living, specifically at 41 percent, and is ranked better only than Albania, which has a standard of 39 percent of the average in the European Union,” Eurostat states.
Montenegro has 60 percent of the European Union average, Serbia slightly more than 50
Of the countries in the region, Montenegro is the best, with 60 percent of the European average, followed by Serbia with 52 percent, North Macedonia is at 49 percent, and among the members of the European Union, Bulgaria is at the bottom, at 63 percent of the European Union average.
“At the EU level, Luxembourg had the highest standard last year, 46 percent above the European average. It is followed by Denmark and Germany with a standard higher by a fifth,” this analysis states, reported by Dnevnik.hr.
Croatia is in the group of countries with a low standard of living
It is added that Italy, Lithuania and Cyprus are closest to the European Union average, while the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland, Spain, Portugal and Romania lag behind by about 15 percent on average.
Croatia is in the group of countries with a low standard of living in the EU expressed in actual individual consumption per capita, namely 27 percent lower than the average, according to Nezavisne novine.
