Lovro Rogulj, a well-known entrepreneur and educator who advises his clients on ways to earn extra income and find additional work, appeared as a guest on the N1 television program Novi dan.
For N1 he spoke with the program host Hrvoje Krešić about whether it is possible today to live normally on just one salary.
Entrepreneur Rogulj classifies people who work multiple jobs into two categories.
In one group, he placed those whose additional job is of the same type as their primary one. In the other, he placed those who do a completely different job for an additional source of income, for example, they work in accounting from 9 to 5, and after that or on weekends they clean apartments.
People in their 20s to 50s most often work two jobs, with men and women represented in roughly equal proportions.
The most important information he presented is that today it is extremely difficult to live on just one salary. Rising prices simply 'eat up' a good part of that income, while citizens' purchasing power is steadily decreasing.
People want greater stability and security and to know how they will be able to pay their loan installment and cover all utility bills at the end of the month. In addition, they want to provide their children with better living conditions, afford travel, a vacation, and a new car, and cover unexpected household expenses.
The program host asked how, alongside family and other obligations, one can find time for an additional job.
'People need to understand how to act. They need to be motivated, disciplined, and determined. Strong will, motivation, and the desire to consistently carry out tasks are the key to finding time for an additional job,' says Lovro Rogulj.
