The largest municipal company in the city, employing more than 5,500 workers, has announced job openings in the Zagrebačke ceste and Gradska groblja branches. These are opportunities for stable employment, as contracts are mostly concluded for an indefinite period with an agreed probation period.
Requirements and earnings for the gravedigger position
The Gradska groblja branch is looking for several employees for the position of gravedigger (m/f). For this specific and very important role in the municipal system, the employer offers a basic gross monthly salary in the amount of 1,532.45 euros. In addition, the salary increases by 0.5 percent for each year of service, and workers are also entitled to additional monthly non-taxable income in the net amount of 176.66 euros. Duties in this position include digging graves to the prescribed depth, preparing tombs for burial, participating in the processes of bidding farewell to the deceased, as well as horticultural work such as mowing and pruning vegetation in the cemetery area. Other open positions in road maintenance
The Zagrebačke ceste branch is actively seeking a larger number of workers for the maintenance of the city's traffic infrastructure. Open positions include road workers (m/f), machine operators (m/f), asphalt workers (m/f), and auxiliary workers(m/f).
Road workers and asphalt workers can expect a basic gross monthly salary of 1,372.56 euros, with an additional 0.5 percent per year of service and 176.66 euros in additional net income each month. Their work includes field tasks such as manual and machine asphalt paving, installing concrete elements, and general maintenance of roads and shoulders.
The auxiliary worker, whose place of work will be the asphalt base in Rakitje, will have a basic gross salary of 1,329.92 euros with identical additional monthly income. His job includes performing simpler auxiliary tasks related to machinery and production.
For the position of machine operator, 2 employees are sought with secondary or qualified technical education and at least 6 months of work experience in the same or similar jobs. A category B driver's license is required, and preference is given to candidates with a passed category C license and code 95 entered. Their main task will be operating construction machines such as rollers, excavators, and trenchers, as well as mandatory participation in winter service.
Applications for road workers and machine operators are open until April 17, 2026, while applications for asphalt workers and auxiliary workers are accepted until April 20, 2026.
