Zagreb Leads Croatia in Christmas Bonus Payouts: Who Will Get €350 and Who €100

In Zagreb, this year as well, just like last year, civil servants and employees in the administrative bodies of the City will receive a Christmas bonus in the amount of 350 euros, and additionally the same compensation will also be paid to employees of city institutions, including the Public Fire Brigade and city kindergartens.

Additionally, according to data reported by RTL Danas, a total of 32,210 beneficiaries of cash benefits will receive a Christmas bonus in the amount of 100 euros, which represents an increase compared to 2024 of 7,734 beneficiaries, or an additional 773,400 euros in the city budget, writes net.hr.

Recipients of the Christmas bonuses include seven categories, including recipients of the care and assistance allowance, beneficiaries of personal disability allowance, the inclusion allowance, as well as the right to the national benefit for older persons for personal needs, for example pocket money, used by those who use the services of a home for older persons. The City of Zagreb has thus, along with increasing the number of beneficiaries, secured additional funds in the budget so that all of the aforementioned seven categories can receive the Christmas bonus in the planned amount.

These measures clearly show that the City of Zagreb continues the practice of social sensitivity and support for the most vulnerable groups of citizens, while at the same time emphasizing the importance of transparency in the planning and payment of Christmas bonuses. Experts point out that such a practice, along with regular assessment of budget possibilities, contributes to the stability of the local social system and encourages a more even distribution of funds among citizens.
