Croatia Offers Jobs to McDonald’s Workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina

After Bosnia and Herzegovina was left without the fast-food restaurants of the global brand McDonald’s because the domestic company lost the license, an offer is arriving from neighboring Croatia for the workers who lost their jobs.

Namely, as they told N1 from the company Globalna hrana, which owns the McDonald’s franchise in Croatia and has over three thousand employees, applications from workers who worked in the BiH company that held the permit for this global chain are more than welcome.

– At McDonald’s Croatia, all candidates have equal rights to employment, depending on qualifications and the current demand for employees. That is exactly why we will consider every potential application from interested colleagues from Bosnia and Herzegovina and help them resolve work permits in the process – it was told to N1.

What everyone is interested in are the financial conditions.

– The average net salary for an entry-level position is around 930 euros, and we also provide continuous education, training, and flexible working hours – they explained.

We remind you, the public in BiH never officially received information about why McDonald’s restaurants in our country were closed, except that it is only known that the company holding the franchise did not pay rent for the premises in the center of Sarajevo to an Austrian bank.

The Sarajevo public utility company “Vodovod i kanalizacija” announced that the company which held the McDonald’s franchise owes more than 12,000 KM based on water and drainage bills.

The operations of McDonald’s, that is, the company that had the franchise, were also covered by European media.

– The straw that probably broke the camel’s back at the American headquarters was the director’s company car. Ihtijarević treated himself to nothing less than a Bentley as a vehicle. Allegedly, he rented the English luxury car at McDonald’s expense – writes “Kleine Zeitung”.

Economists had previously stated to N1 the reasons why the McDonald’s license was revoked and what kind of message this sends to other foreign investors who, they claim, seek political and legal stability, which is obviously lacking in BiH.
