Miele is in a difficult situation.
The German manufacturer of electrical household appliances “Miele” intends to lay off 1,300 workers in Germany itself, which means that one in nine workers will lose their job.
The conclusion of a new collective agreement with the union is also being announced, which will be valid from August 2024 to December 2028, as well as an investment of half a billion euros. To dismiss such a large number of workers, it is necessary to prepare conditions for the payment of severance pay and early retirement. However, it is claimed that there will be no layoffs until the end of 2027.
