Slovenia: Job Vacancies Reach Highest Level Since 2008

LJUBLJANA – In Slovenia, nearly 25,900 job vacancies were advertised in the second quarter, which is six percent more than in the first quarter.

According to the statistical office, the number of job vacancies thus reached the highest level since 2008, when they began conducting this survey. The highest number of job vacancies was in hospitality.

On an annual basis, demand for new workers increased by a quarter, which means nearly 5,100 more job vacancies. As they add, the year-on-year increase of 1,100 job vacancies was most pronounced in hospitality.

This time, demand was higher than a year ago in all sectors of activity except mining, manufacturing, and real estate. The number of filled jobs was higher by 19,300 on an annual basis. According to the statistics, this number has been constantly increasing since the second quarter of 2014, with the exception of the second quarter of 2020, when the covid-19 epidemic broke out.
