ZET Seeks 36 Workers After Strike: Average Pay at Company Around €1,930

ZET has announced new job postings for 36 workers, from drivers to employees in administration and infrastructure maintenance.

In addition, it is still collecting applications for bus drivers and a range of skilled trades. According to ZET's official website, the new calls were published on 22 and 23 October, and for most of them applications are open until 2 November.

The hiring comes approximately one month after the strike that seriously disrupted public transport in Zagreb at the end of September. In a statement from 30 September, following the County Court's decision declaring the strike illegal, ZET called on workers to return to work and announced the continuation of talks on working conditions.

They are looking for drivers, some even without experience

Among the new calls is a posting for 6 drivers of vehicles for transporting persons with disabilities. Work experience is not required, but the appropriate qualification, a category C1 driving licence, a driver card, and medical fitness are required. Shift work, weekend work, and holiday work are expected. They are also seeking 3 special vehicle drivers and 1 special energy vehicle driver. For these jobs, category C, KOD 95, a driver card, and at least 1 year of experience are required.

The earlier call for bus drivers and drivers who park vehicles also remains open. For them, category D, the appropriate professional qualification, KOD 95, a driver card, and medical fitness are required. A permanent contract is offered with a 6-month probation period, and applications are being collected as long as there is a need for workers.

Jobs in administration and technical services

ZET is seeking 4 administrative clerks, 2 independent administrative clerks, 3 legal clerks, 4 public relations clerks, and 1 social worker. For administrative clerks, a secondary school qualification in administration and computer skills are required. Positions are also open for engineers in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and geodesy, as well as transport technologists. The required education and other conditions are listed separately for each job.

Applications are also being accepted for auto electricians, auto mechanics, auto body workers, electricians, locksmiths, welders, plumbers, and other skilled trades. The list also includes cleaners and auxiliary workers, for whom no professional qualification is required. This call covers 21 occupations, with permanent employment and a 6-month probation period. Applications do not have a predetermined closing date.

Average earnings around 1,930 euros

According to official data that ZET provided to the media at the end of September, the average monthly net earnings of all employees in July 2026 amounted to 1,931.33 euros, and for bus and tram drivers 1,992.12 euros. The median net salary amounted to 1,942.42 euros.

ZET also stated that the average earnings of all employees have increased by 59% since 2021. These are data on employees at that time, so starting earnings should be checked for the specific position.

The deadline for most new job postings is approaching soon

For calls published on 22 October, applications are accepted until 2 November, while for the transport of persons with disabilities, the announcement of 23 October states a deadline of 8 days. The application with the required evidence should be submitted to ZET's Human Resources Department at Ozaljska 105, 10000 Zagreb, with the designation prescribed by the individual call. Forms and full conditions are available on ZET's employment page, so before sending, the documentation for the selected job should be checked.
