Zagreb Holding has opened a new round of recruitment for a range of jobs in Zagreb.

The most attention is drawn by vacancies for gravediggers and municipal workers, but cooks, auto mechanics, auto body repairers, and a tow truck worker are also being sought.

In August, according to the official Zagreb Holding website, 15 current Holding job postings were published, along with several more postings from affiliated companies and institutions.

Jobs in large city utility systems were once considered especially desirable in Croatia because of regular income, job security, and rights under collective agreements. For years, the stereotype was also repeated in public that connections were needed to get into such a company, while the current vacancies have been published through public job postings with prescribed deadlines and required documentation.

The City Cemeteries branch is seeking five gravediggers. Three people would be employed on a permanent basis, and two on a fixed-term basis, with a probation period. Previous experience is not listed as a requirement, while a category B driver's license is an advantage. The salary for this position has not been published in the current job posting.

Čistoća is hiring multiple municipal workers on a permanent basis, with a six-month probation period. The basic gross salary is 1,372.56 euros, and it increases by 0.5 percent for each year of work experience. Workers also receive additional monthly compensation of 176.66 euros net, a paid annual transport pass, vacation allowance, a Christmas bonus, and other benefits.

For a person residing in Zagreb, without children and additional tax relief, the total starting income of a municipal worker would amount to approximately 1,160 euros net per month. This is an approximate calculation that includes the basic personal allowance of 600 euros, the Zagreb tax rate of 23 percent, and the additional compensation listed in the job posting.

The Vladimir Nazor branch is seeking two cooks for permanent employment, primarily on Sljeme. The basic gross salary is 1,630.16 euros, with an additional 176.66 euros net per month and a salary increase according to years of service. According to the same approximate calculation, the starting total income would amount to about 1,319 euros net per month.

There are also open postings for special machinery operators, patrol workers, auto body repairers, auto mechanics, sheet metal workers and plumbers, a tow truck worker, an internal auditor, and a specialist for development and recruitment. Candidates are also being sought for several professional and managerial positions. For some jobs, a permanent contract is offered, while for certain positions employment is arranged on a fixed-term basis, and salaries are not listed in most of those postings.

Application deadlines depend on the position. For most postings, applications are accepted until September 3, for gravediggers until September 4, and for municipal workers and cooks until September 7, 2026. Applications must be submitted in person or by registered mail to Zagreb Holding at Ulica grada Vukovara 41, with an indication of the position for which the candidate is applying.
