City of Split Pays Christmas Bonuses of Up to €170 to Pensioners and Socially Vulnerable Residents

In the spirit of traditional holiday giving and pronounced care for the most vulnerable fellow citizens, the City of Split has once again this year provided Christmas bonuses for a number of categories of citizens.

The payment of these financial supports, intended to brighten the upcoming holidays, will begin at the start of December.

Several groups are entitled to the Christmas bonus, and it is important to emphasize that the right can be exercised on only one basis.

Support for pensioners and the socially vulnerable

The largest coverage applies to pensioners whose total monthly income does not exceed 332.00 euros, and who already exercise the right to city support as part of the 'Moj zlatni Split' project. This is an existing program intended to financially relieve the most vulnerable population of pensioners with lower pensions.

The amounts of the Christmas bonuses for this category vary depending on the level of income, and will be assigned to the 'Moj zlatni Split' card.

Pensioners with incomes up to 119.45 euros will receive the highest amount of 170.00 euros. Those whose income ranges from 119.46 euros to 199.08 euros are entitled to 120.00 euros, while pensioners with incomes from 199.09 euros to 332.00 euros will be granted 100.00 euros.

Caregivers who receive support from the City are also specifically included, and they will receive a Christmas bonus in the amount of 170.00 euros into their account.

Furthermore, beneficiaries of the personal inclusive allowance of the Croatian Institute for Social Work, who receive compensation from the City of Split, are entitled to a Christmas bonus of 80.00 euros, which will also be paid into the beneficiary's account.

The same amount of 80.00 euros will also be received by beneficiaries of the guaranteed minimum benefit of the Croatian Institute for Social Work and beneficiaries of heating cost assistance with residence in the Split area. Payment of the entitlement is also made into the beneficiary's account.

Finally, the group of those receiving support in the amount of 80.00 euros also includes socially vulnerable pupils and students, beneficiaries of city supports and scholarships for this category. The money will be paid directly into their account.

Procedure for exercising the right

Existing beneficiaries of city compensations and supports, as a rule, are not required to submit a special request to exercise the right to the Christmas bonus because the support will be paid automatically.

An exception is beneficiaries of the guaranteed minimum benefit who in the current year do not receive heating cost assistance from the City of Split. They are the only ones required to submit a request for the Christmas bonus. The request can be obtained from 02 December 2025 at the central registry office of the City of Split or on the official website of the City, www.split.hr. Submission of the request is possible in person at the central registry office, by mail, or by email to the address pisarnica@split.hr.
